This marvelous etching print plate is created in gorgeous copper with the very intricate design of the sailing ship "Brenda." I did find reference to a ship with the same name that was built in 1877 in Scotland. It appears it made several trips to Australia. The plate is signed " R. Colerion" in the lower right hand corner. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=14 inches, Width from side to side=11 inches. This beautiful plate has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition. The front side is etched for printing, lines are clear and sharp, so it is difficult to determine if there is any extraneous marks. The back is unfinished. This marvelous plate is the perfect addition to your maritime collection or could be used to make prints, particularly if you like the historic reference.
