Vintage c. 1935 candleholders with pale blue, orange, and gray accents hand painted by one of Sweden's leading ceramic artists of the 20th Century, Ilse Claesson (1907 - 1999). This unique pair of porcelain candlesticks with intended crackle glaze and black detailing is typical of Claesson's style as a lead artist for the Rörstrand Company (c. 1726 to present), a leading European porcelain producer second only to the Meissen Company. Both candlesticks are hand-signed with the "Rörstrand" trademark and the initials "IC" for Ilse Claesson.
