This marvelous antique dresser or table box is created in gorgeous gold gilt over silverplate and was made by E. G. Webster & Son, Silversmiths, New York, NY. This beautiful hinged box was made between 1886-1928. The center of this box has an engraved lion standing on a crown, as well as holding a crown. There is an applied rope border on the top, as well as the base and this fabulous box rests on four bun feet. Hallmarks are: three plumes, crown, lion with a lion, star and lion underneath which indicts the maker, as well as production date. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Length from side to side=3-7/8 inches, Width=3-1/2 inches, Depth from top to bottom=1-3/4 inches. Weight=10.75 Troy ounces. This marvelous gold gilt on silver plate box has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent antique condition, free from chips, repairs or damage. There is light scratching on the inside and outside bottom, commensurate with use and age, but does not diminish the beauty of this fabulous box. It is perfect for jewelry storage or to decorate a table.
