Unique burgundy and gold resin-coated wooden box with hand-cut and painted beige, red, and black triangle and diamond decoration (appearing almost as a marquetry composition but the shapes are applied, not inlaid). Circa 1920s/30s, Italy.
Opens to reveal a red-painted interior with a gondola and two-masted boat litho on one side.
