A 20th century coffee serving table handwoven with rattan in Burma. This table adopts an oval shape resting on two half-moon legs. These legs are made with thick rattan rods organized as an openwork ensemble. The top is handwoven with fine rattan displaying a discreet geometrical pattern. Two half-moon holes surmount the legs while a tall woven rattan edge surrounds the top. These tables could be used to serve breakfast in bed, along with coffee and a newspaper. Made during the 1970s, this Burmese hand woven rattan coffee serving table would add a rustic touch in most homes, possibly for its original use, or as a wonderful platform for displaying accessories.
