A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the TÅkaidÅ Road".
Thirty-Third Station: Futagawa. In the title block: "Saruga bamba", name of the plain. Three traveling musicians carrying their shamisens head towards a small tea house known for its rice cake, Kashiwa-mochi, which is eaten in May.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXXIV.
Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed.
