Embossed edge around the image. Name of the event is printed below the image. Published by Editions du Chene in 1956. Edition No 33. Printed by K.G. Lohse in Frankfurt, Germany in 1956. Nearly excellent condition - some edge wear, lower right corner is lightly bent, light tanning at edges, never framed.

On November 21, 1783, Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes made the first free flight with human passengers, ascending to an altitude of approximately 26 meters (85 feet) in a tethered balloon. Later that day, they successfully flew a free flight, becoming the first humans to soar through the air.
