Vintage Northern Furniture Company Mid-Century Modern Style Painted Buffet

Description

This buffet which has been refinished by a very talented artist several years ago before I purchased it and has used it in my own home for the past two decades. The Northern Furniture Company from which it was made was founded in 1881 and renamed from Mattoon Manufacturing Company in 1916. The Northern company stayed as Northern until 1949 and went through the times of Mission-style early on to Art Deco and later Mid-Century Modern. This lovely piece I have is part of the collection of the later Mid-Century Modern and it quite beautiful in its workmanship, style and architectural lines. I have been very proud to have owned such a wonderful piece of history, but alas it's time to renovate the parlor and allow someone else the beauty of this classic timepiece. I collected this buffet from a close neighbor and friend.
