I have no idea whether it is vintage or antique. If I were to guess I would say it is at least vintage, but that is all that is - a guess. And your guess is as good as mine. It is prepared for hanging in the portrait position, but since it is solid wood, it can easily be changed to a landscape position if that is what you need/want. There are two matts in it and you could use either or both so it could accommodate any one of three different sizes of portrait pictures or any one of three different sizes of landscape pictures. The blue on the outside of the brown frame is just because I find that I sometimes can see details better against color than against white backgrounds. Study whichever ones are easier for you to understand and see things better in. It includes glass and the 5 pounds, 3 ounces I stated that it weighs is WITH the glass in it.
I have written in on one of my pictures the measurements, but sometimes words are easier, so I will also explain it here:
Outside measurements of the frame - 23" x 19"
Inside measurements of the frame - 19.5" x 15.5"
There are two matts. They create only a fine line of .25" between the wider appearing matt and the glass. Then:
Edges of the picture area - 15.5" x 11.5"
Width of the matts - 2"
