
Description
This marvelous A.E. Gray & Company Sailing Ship pitcher is created in gorgeous earthenware Staffordshire pottery and is glazed in a beautiful maroon splashed lustre pattern. This design was used from 1939-1945 and Sam Talbot, NRD was most likely the artist. There is a hearty 1800's style sailing ship gracing the front and there is a pointed spout with D shaped handle. Backstamp reads: "Gray's Pottery. Made in Stoke on Trent, England. This particular stamp dates this lovely piece from 1942-1958. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=4-3/4 inches, Width at widest=4-3/4 inches, Depth=4-1/2 inches, Fluid ounces=16 ounces. This beautiful pitcher has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks, crazing or other imperfections. It is the perfect addition to your maritime collection, particularly if you like British Royal Navy themes.
