
This trapdoor rifle was made in 1886 by Springfield Armory and Chambered in .45-70 Government. It features a blade style front sight and an adjustable rear notch flip up sight. The front barrel band is fitted with sling mount and stacking swivel and cleaning rod is stored in the stock below the barrel. The top of the barrel is marked with "VP" with the Eagle head and a "P" below and an "A" to the right. The top of the breech door is marked with "US Model 1884". the right side below the hammer has the American eagle and shield engraving with "US Springfield". The trigger guard is fitted with the rear sling mount and the hardwood stock is fitted with a metal butt plate. LOP: 13 1/4". CALIBER/GA: 45-70 Government. S/N: 353438. FFL: Antique.
Condition
Good - The mechanics are good and the bore has some light frost and visible rifling. The stock has visible dings and dents from use and storage. The butt plate and other metal parts show light oxidation.
