Vintage Sterling Green & Blue Topaz Ring, Sz. 9.5, Stauer, 1990's-2000's. Statement halo vermeil ring with a large center green stone that is appx. 18mm by 13mm, prong-set. It has a lower halo setting of pale blue oval stones that are appx. 4mm by 3mm. The top of the ring is appx. 23mm down the finger and 19mm across the finger. It has an intricate undercarriage web supporting the setting with a double band at top that is appx. 4.4mm wide and tapers to appx. 2mm at the back of the finger. It is marked .925 and signed Stauer. It comes in the velvet dark blue box with Stauer on top in gold lettering. The green stone is believed to be Helenite. This is also known as Mount St. Helens obsidian, emerald obsidianite, and ruby obsidianite, is a glass made from the fused volcanic rock dust from Mount St. Helens and marketed as a gemstone. Helenite was first created accidentally after the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. These rings sold new in the range of $300.00 and higher. This is in very good condition and a beauty of a ring.
