Description
It wasn't until after World War 2 that the use of sterling silverware declined, mainly because so many Europeans lost their wealth and sterling silverware was primarily used by the nobility.
From that point onward, many American manufacturers began to produce steel silverware, which was more affordable.
With this over production of silver plated and steel/nickel silverware many artists of the 1960's up to today have used these utensils as the basis for their work.
From this primordial state, I've incorporated our Bedouin nature with our mid-20th century production of silverware to bring you my 10th collection of silverware inspired jewelry.
This is the eighth piece of my 9th collection of silverware inspired jewelry...
An old silver plated spoon handle was cut down and bent down, then molded and re-cast in sterling silver and finally layered with 18 kt gold vermeil.
The ring measures 1/2" wide and tapers down to just under 1/4", design is floral.
Marked, "AJ" for "Alberto Juan".
Available as sterling silver($120), 18 kt gold vermeil over brass($70), and sterling silver over brass($70) and with the polish of your choice (polished or antiqued).
