An antique map of Wisconsin and part of the Minnesota Territory, issued by Warner Lewis at the Surveyor General’s Office in Dubuque, dated October 21, 1854. The map illustrates the progress of U.S. Government land surveys in the region and features the reservations of the Brothertown, Stockbridge, Oneida, and Menominee tribes. Notable landmarks include the city of St. Paul, Fort Snelling, Fort Gaines, the Falls of St. Anthony, and the "White Pine" Treaty Line of July 29th, 1837. Wisconsin had been admitted to the Union in 1848; Minnesota was admitted four years after publication in 1858. . Warner Lewis, Surveyor General. Published 1854. Antique survey map.
