Original 1895 Japanese woodblock triptych by Hasegawa Sadanobu II (1848-1940) from a series of sensō-e (war prints). It depicts the First Sino-Japanese War, specifically celebrating the Japanese victory over Chinese forces at Asan (the mountain is marked in red cartouche next to its summit), Korea, on July 29, 1894, portraying Japanese soldiers in modern uniforms triumphing over archaic-dressed Chinese troops. Nice bright colors, sheets are attached together, some expected wear. Total size 14 x 27 3/8 inches (35.3 x 70 cm).
