Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese temple boxwood seal of rectangular section. The first photo shows the image of the bottom flipped left to right, so the seal can be read. Excellent quality crisp carving of four raised characters, old red seal paste in the grooves. Beautiful patina on the surface of wood, signs of use adding to the presence of the object. Height 2.37 inches, printing surface size 0.84 x 0.36 inches.
