Description

Felicien Levesque (1916-1997) was a creative and enthusiastic carver of wooden figures, boats, and animals. He often worked with found materials. This work, "Woman with Hat & Purse," shows the artist's attention to detail: felt cap and wig, steel necklace, bead earrings, and a vinyl belt and purse.

Condition

Good condition. Paint retains strong colour. Complete. Structurally sound. Some cracking and loss to gesso surrounding shoulders and breasts.
