Description

3 3/4" length of thin construction intended to surprise during raiding where victims were not wearing protective clothing. Vikings raided villages along the Mediterranean coast, taking captives across to North Africa where they were sold as slaves. They also raided Ireland for almost two centuries. Diamond form point with a very low medial ridge on both sides. Cylindrical foot and thick tapered tang. Excavated and professionally conserved.
