Description
Blade measures 33 - 1/8" from tip of blade to base of ricasso, both sides with an approximately 10" fuller, with a heavily softened inscription on left side; perhaps a running wolf? Double edged blade with heavily rounded tip. Hilt in the form of a schianova guard with thumb ring has been married to sword. Grip with fitted leather cover decorated with a raised spiral. Flanged brass pommel of classic form. CONDITION: Metal has scattered darkness and spotting, with dove grey throughout; excellent delamination visible on obverse and to hilt and areas what may be cutting damage. Evidence of fitting blade to grip at ricasso. Grip is very good with some bumps and chips, dry. Pommel very good with more patina than blade. Sword as a whole is loose. A good example of the Venetian sword. Blade Length: 33 - 1/8" Overall Length: 39"
