Khitan Script Bronze Sutra Plate, 39.5cm in length and 24.5cm in width, unearthed from Liao Dynasty Khitan aristocratic tombs or temple sites, used for printing Buddhist scriptures. Bronze with mottled patina formed on the surface due to the long history. The sutra plate is rectangular, with raised Khitan large script Buddhist scriptures carved on it, and the edge is decorated with Buddha statues and donor patterns. Adopting the lost-wax casting technique, with a rigorous character layout and vigorous and powerful carving skills, reflecting the writing system and religious beliefs of the Khitan people. Liao Dynasty (916–1125). The Khitan script is a lost ethnic minority writing system; this sutra plate is an important physical material for the study of the Khitan script and Liao Dynasty Buddhism. With extremely few existing pieces, it has irreplaceable academic value for the study of Liao Dynasty culture and religion, and most similar pieces are collected in institutions such as the Liao Shangjing Museum.
