Wedgwood introduced their Queens Ware in 1765, and then continued to make it for another 250 years. Because of the maker's mark on the bottom, I know that this delightful Trojan jug was produced sometime between 1940 and 1945. The solid creamware was produced during the 1940's, due to wartime shortages of pigments. The embossed bas relief decoration is a nicely detailed sacrifice frieze.
