This is a beautiful oil painting of a landscape with a Dutch couple standing in front of a Windmill by Theodore Jackman. He was born in Bloomington, IL. on July 23, 1878, he is a well known listed artist with auction records of over $5,000. He studied at the AIC and in Paris. He was active in New York City as an illustrator and portaitist before settling in Southern California in 1914. During the 1920's he worked in his studio home in Laguna Beach. As well as portraits, he also painted Spanish California genre and often accompanied F. Grayson Sayre on sketching trips into the desert. This painting has been relined and restored and is 20" by 24". The overall measurements including the frame are 25" by 29.5".
