These two (2) paintings, are unsigned work of a provincial atelier, is a rare example of popular religious art. Modeled on imperial commendation scrolls. A Fine Daoist Paintings of gods holding written spells, attendants and horsemen, Ming dynasty, Late 16th Century and 17th century.
Chinese Inkand Color and Gild on Paper Scroll Paintings (MING DYNASTY) and iconography. Ming Dynasty. A major dynasty that ruled China from the mid-fourteenth to the mid-seventeenth century. It was marked by a great expansion of Chinese commerce into East Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Late 16th Century and early 17th century. Two Chinese Provincial Daoist Scroll Paintings. Hangs beautifully and straight.
