Offered is a wonderful abstract acrylic on canvas painting by Frank Roth (1926-2019).
Similar in style to the work of Frank Stella.
Signed 'F. Roth 75' center right.
This 26x26" painting is attractively presented in the original gold color aluminum section frame.
Roth was born in Boston in 1936. He moved in 1954 to New York, where he studied first at the Cooper Union Art School and then in 1955 at Hans Hofmann's school. His first one-man exhibition was at the Artists' Gallery, New York, in 1958. He was a teacher for many years at the School of Visual Art (SVA), New York City and is known for his abstract works. Many of which have sold at public auctions.
Condition: Original Condition Unaltered; Some Imperfections; Presents very well. There is a small nail sized puncture visible on close inspection near the middle (pics 5-7). There are small marks of missing paint at the edge of the yellow strip on the left above the white stripe (pic 4). This resulted when the the tape used to create the white stripe was removed. There is a 1/4" separation to the frame at the bottom corner as can be seen in the 8th pic.
