This 1990's Gerhard Herbst linking neck piece is hand constructed from eight individually hand forged Sterling Silver components. Select elements are then gold plated to achieve the striking silver gold effect central to its overall design. Measuring just over 1/2'' at its wide points, this piece and weights in at 23 grams and fits neck sizes under 14''.

Modernist designer, Gerhard Herbst translates sculptural form into the jewelry medium. Popularly known for his spatial shapes and fluid manipulations of metal, Herbst began producing his unique style of jewelry in 1975. Herbst then continued to study both sculpture and jewelry design at San Diego State University, and upon graduating he established his jewelry studio in Ocean Beach California. Adopting a wholesale manufacturing business model, Herbst would reproduce designs which he would then sell to leading Museum shops and galleries throughout the United States. Although no edition numbers were set, total production was limited as each piece was individually and personally handcrafted by Gerhard Herbst.
