A Cantonese Famille Rose punch bowl, circa late 19th c. Decorated with alternate panels of figures including ladies and scholars at leisure and flowers, within gilt borders of butterflies, birds, and flowers.
A four-charater Qianlong reign mark in iron red color, written in kaishu script, in the center of the base.
Dimensions: 10 1/4 inches diameter; 4 3/4 inches high.
Provenance: Private family collection in Japan, Nagasaki prefecture. Acquired at auction in Nagasaki (Japanese city with the largest Chinese community).
