A beautiful pair of candle holders
Made of hard, high-fired light brown stoneware, glazed with a thin "smear" glaze, with applied ornamentation, known as Silicon Ware

Characteristic column form
Beautiful and complex ornamentation all around on the matching pair

Well marked on the underside with the DOULTON LAMBETH SILICON impressed mark, in a rectangle, above ENGLAND
Additional impressed markings: 9797 and L E / C O, in lowercase

Doulton Lambeth Silicon Ware was produced by the company for the period 1880-1912. The word "England" was added to the marks after 1891, dating this piece to the period 1891-1912

Measurements: Approx. 6.5" tall, 4.3" base diameter each
Weigh about 2 lbs. 2 oz. altogether
