Holmes and Edwards was an American manufacturer of luxury silverware; a division of International Silver. They were known for their Inlaid Silver, a Sheffield style semi-plated silver flatware. The "Napoleon" pattern was designed by noted artist Lillian V.M. Helander introduced in 1929, and, due to the onset of the Depression, was only produced for a very short time.
Napoleon is a very spare, boldly masculine Art Deco design. This 65 piece service for eight people includes 8 Dinner Knives, 8 Dinner Forks, 8 Salad Forks, 16 Teaspoons, 8 Soup Spoons, 5 Viande Knives, 6 Viande Forks, 1 Sugar Spoon, 1 Master Butter, and 5 Serving Spoons.
