This lot includes four issues of Model Builder magazine published by The Lionel Corporation (1945-1946) and two Life-Like trade catalogs (1980-1981). The Model Builder issues represent the post-WWII hobby boom, featuring instructional guides and classic Lionel advertisements like Lionel Selective Electronic Remote Control. The Life-Like catalogs, titled From train set to Model Railroad... Life-Like leads the way to Profits, were produced in Baltimore, MD, for hobby shop dealers. These publications document the evolution of model railroading from family-oriented postwar recreation to sophisticated retail merchandising. Transcribed text includes I Know a Top Secret! and Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild advertisements. 8.5 x 11 inches each.
