An autograph musical quotation by famed composer Igor Stravinsky, featuring a short composition in his hand. 1p of pink-toned paper, 3.25" x 5" (folded), San Francisco, CA, ca. 1937. Boldly signed and inscribed below the line of music in black fountain pen: "Igor Stravinsky/ San Francisco/ Mars 37". Exhibits darkened handling marks and uneven toning throughout, with light surface creasing and edge wear. Verso has been four-hole punched, likely taken from an autograph album. Overall, very good. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky (1882-1971) was a Russian-born composer and conductor. He is widely considered one of the most important and influential composers of the 20th century, and a pivotal figure in modernist music. In 1937, he appeared as a guest conductor of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra to perform his neoclassical composition "Symphony of Psalms" (1930).
