Evelyn Lincoln (1909–1995) served as John F. Kennedy’s personal and confidential secretary from his Senate years beginning in 1953 through his presidency and until his assassination in 1963. Fiercely loyal, impeccably organized, and at JFK’s side through every major moment of his political life, Lincoln handled his correspondence, dictated his speeches, managed his schedule, and preserved vast quantities of his papers, notes, and memorabilia. She was with the President in Dallas on November 22, 1963, and afterward became a central guardian of Kennedy’s legacy, her archive forming the core of the renowned Robert L. White Collection.
