Fine condition.
Eroni Kumana (c.1919–2014) was one of the Solomon Islanders who played a crucial role in the survival of Lieutenant John F. Kennedy and the crew of PT-109 after their boat was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer in August 1943. Alongside fellow scout Biuku Gasa, Kumana encountered the marooned crew and helped deliver a carved coconut message that ultimately led to their rescue. Their actions became one of the defining human stories of Kennedy’s wartime service and later presidency, symbolizing courage, resourcefulness, and cross-cultural cooperation under extraordinary circumstances.
