Details:
Jack Ruby ephemera grouping including an unused Empire State Bank of Dallas check printed for “Jack Ruby, Special,” a Carousel Club promotional card advertising Ruby as host, an original “JADA” exotic dancer card associated with Ruby’s Dallas club operations with hand written notation on verso. Together, these items document Ruby’s role as proprietor of the Carousel Club and his business activities in Dallas during the early 1960s.
The Empire State Bank check bears Ruby’s Oak Lawn address and reflects his everyday financial operations. The Carousel Club card advertises “Dallas’ Only Continuous Floor Shows” and prominently identifies Jack Ruby as host, a direct connection to the club that would later be referenced repeatedly in historical accounts following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The accompanying nightclub and performer ephemera further contextualize the atmosphere, clientele, and promotional style of Ruby’s establishments during this period.
Fine condition overall, with expected age and handling wear consistent with mid-20th-century paper ephemera.
Jack Ruby (1911–1967) was the Dallas nightclub owner who fatally shot Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, two days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. His actions, broadcast live on national television, permanently embedded his name in American history and continue to be studied in connection with the events surrounding JFK’s death.
