Dorothy Kilgallen (1913–1965) was one of America’s most prominent journalists, a syndicated columnist, television personality, and investigative reporter. In the years following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Kilgallen became one of the most vocal and persistent critics of the official conclusions surrounding the case. She was the only journalist to privately interview Jack Ruby, and she repeatedly stated that her findings contradicted the Warren Commission’s narrative regarding Lee Harvey Oswald.
Kilgallen publicly claimed to possess confidential information about the assassination that she intended to publish, but she died suddenly in 1965 under circumstances that remain controversial. Her death, combined with her outspoken criticism of the Warren Report, has made her a lasting and significant figure in Kennedy assassination research.
A compelling and historically important piece linking a major American journalist directly to the unresolved questions surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy.
