Details:
John F. Kennedy original Type I 10 x 8” black-and-white photograph, depicting the President moving through a tightly packed crowd and shaking hands with supporters during his final trip to Texas. The image captures Kennedy surrounded by aides, Secret Service, press, and rain-clad members of the public, moments before his departure from Fort Worth on the morning of November 22, 1963.
The crowd’s widespread use of rain hats, ponchos, and protective outerwear firmly places this scene in Fort Worth on assassination day, following Kennedy’s breakfast address at the Hotel Texas and immediately prior to his flight to Dallas. The dense, intimate rope-line interaction and spontaneous crowd engagement are characteristic of Cecil W. Stoughton’s on-the-ground coverage from that morning.
The photograph is an original vintage press print by White House photographer Cecil W. Stoughton and is encapsulated and authenticated by PSA as a Type I photograph, confirming it was produced from the original negative within the period of the event.
