John F. Kennedy original 8 x 10” black-and-white Associated Press press photograph depicting the late president in his White House office with his longtime personal secretary, Evelyn Lincoln. The image was taken just three days before Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas on November 22, 1963, and bears the original AP caption affixed to the lower margin, identifying Lincoln and noting her role in managing Kennedy’s office and papers following his death.
Near fine condition.
This poignant image captures Kennedy in a quiet, informal White House setting alongside one of the most trusted figures of his political life. Evelyn Lincoln served as Kennedy’s personal secretary from his Senate years through his presidency and was responsible for safeguarding many of his personal papers and records after his death, some of which were later designated for the National Archives and the Kennedy Library.
