Bobby W. Hargis was a Dallas Police Department motorcycle officer assigned to the presidential motorcade on November 22, 1963. Riding to the left rear of President Kennedy’s limousine, Hargis was among the closest officers to the assassination, later stating he was struck by blood and brain matter following the fatal head shot. He provided testimony and statements that became part of the official assassination record and remains one of the most frequently cited motorcade eyewitnesses.
