James Files signed original 8.5 x 11” mixed-media artwork depicting a hawk clutching prey while perched on a gnarled tree branch, image printed in ink with hand-applied color. The drawing is signed and inscribed by Files at the lower margin to his “friend Jeremy Bacon,” dated March 19, 2015. The imagery is stark and symbolic, consistent with themes frequently present in Files’ prison-era artwork.
James Files (1942–2021) was a convicted felon who later claimed involvement in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, alleging he was positioned on the grassy knoll as part of a larger conspiracy. While his claims remain highly controversial and unproven, Files became a persistent figure in JFK assassination research circles, granting interviews and producing signed memorabilia from prison that has since become collectible within assassination-related historical material.
Fine condition.
A compelling and provocative piece suited for collectors of JFK assassination history, conspiracy ephemera, and outsider prison art.
