John Connally dinner ticket issued for the “Governor John B. Connally Day Dinner,” held October 23, 1963, in Amarillo, Texas. The ticket admits one to the event at the Tri-State Fair Grounds, just thirty days before Connally—then Governor of Texas—was seriously wounded while riding in the presidential motorcade during the assassination of John F. Kennedy in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Connally was seated directly in front of Kennedy and was struck by a bullet in the attack, making him a central figure in the events of that day.
