Original 1963 Hallmark-issued White House Christmas card measuring 4.5 x 6.5 inches (closed), featuring a luminous full-color image of the East Room nativity scene (“Crèche in East Room, The White House”) on the front panel. The interior bears a pre-printed holiday message—“With our wishes for a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year”—beneath a gilt-embossed presidential seal, with facsimile signatures of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy printed below. The reverse bears the Hallmark publishing imprint.

Near fine condition.

Issued for the 1963 holiday season, this card was created prior to President Kennedy’s assassination and thus holds deep historical poignancy. According to Mary Evans Seeley’s authoritative reference Season’s Greetings from the White House, only 750 examples of this specific “Blessed Christmas” variant were produced. A separate, more secular version omitting the word “Blessed” was prepared for Jewish friends and international dignitaries.

An especially desirable and emotionally resonant Kennedy-era Christmas card—among the rarest of all official White House holiday issues.
