Authentic vintage wood tikka box from India painted with traditional ring designs. Beautiful worn patina. These beautiful wood painted heirlooms were traditionally used to store the powder for tilaka, a Hindu mark worn on the forehead and other parts of the body. The colored powder was made from sandalwood paste, ashes, kumkum, sindhoor, clay, or other substances. Each sold individually.
