Most likely from the 1940's, this Chippendale mahogany side table has so many features. So striking are the long legs topped with acanthus leaves and ending on ball and claw feet. The apron is carved Greek key motif and the top surface is tooled leather. The top also sports a carved gallery.
The table has no makers mark, but the underside is covered by a piece of wood from Western Picture Frame in Chicago. This wood was probably part of a shipping crate and helps to date the table. Please see all photos as there has been some repair.
The table is 20" square at its widest point. The top surface is 18" inside of the gallery.

Condition Notes: The table is very sturdy but there are signs of repair. At some point, someone may have added stretchers to the legs and then they were removed. We don't believe that the table had stretchers originally.
There are some minor chips in the wood but nothing very visible.
The leather is not torn or peeling but there are a couple of small scratches. There is also some discoloration as it looks as if someone placed an object which left a ring.
