
A Bohemian engraved hunting beaker of 'Koula' type, late 17th century Attributed to the circle of the 'Master of the Koula Beaker', of tapering and thick-walled cylindrical shape, decorated with three arcaded panels divided by columns, depicting a continuous hare hunting scene, two men with guns on horseback galloping through a wooded landscape with two hounds, in pursuit of two leaping hares, one man aiming his gun at the unfortunate animals, buildings behind rockwork in the distance, 12.3cm high Footnotes: A beaker of similar size engraved in comparable style with a battle scene also incorporating men on horseback was in the Klaus Biemann Collection, sold by Bonhams on 26 November 2014, lot 4.
