Greg Murr, an American artist living in Germany, was immediately noticed by major museum curators at the Whitney Museum of American Art, whcih acquired acquired a selection of Murr+-IBk-s works for its permanent collection when Murr has just graduated from his MFA. Pearl Study No. 11 (2012) combines acrylic and colored pencil to create a glowing, biomorphic composition set against a rich red ground. The interplay of soft curves and linear detail gives the piece a sense of movement and depth. Framed at 20.25 by 21.25 inches, the work highlights Murr+-IBk-s refined use of mixed media on paper. The artwork is signed and in very good condition, with vibrant color and a clean, well-preserved frame and signed.
