Description
Calyxte Campe is an exceptional artist and family member of the most important female sculptor of the nineteenth and early twentieth century+-IBQ-Camille Claudel. Campe spent his early years surrounded by Claudel's sculptures, and there is no doubt that Claudel's passionate sculpting touch communicated viscerally with Campe. Eventually, he became a sculptor himself, educated in Florence, Italy in one of the most prestigious art academies in Europe. Campe draws inspiration from the animal and human psychological realm.Anna (2002) is a powerful figurative bronze sculpture by Calyste Campe, depicting a seated female figure with expressive posture and refined detail.
