Description
Tom Uttech's Kasakogwog is a fantastical image as well as an iconic one within Uttech's oeuvre. He draws imaginary place names from a deep well of spiritual symbolism, and has stated that since his paintings depict imaginary scenes, he makes up imaginary titles for them as well. Uttech's reverence for the natural world and its animal inhabitants is obvious in his artworks, lending a sense of mystical stillness and magic to the viewer. The artist+-IBk-s works are included in the collections of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AR; Milwaukee Art Museum, New Orleans Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American art Museum, among others. The work is signed by the artist and is in very good condition.
