About the artist: Ukrainian painter, graphic artist.
Was born on April 7, 1922 in the city of Semipalatinsk (Russia).
Member of the Great Patriotic War, holder of the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, medals "For Courage", "For Victory over Germany."
In 1947 - 1951 he studied at the Simferopol Art School named after I. N. Samokish at V. Bernadsky, T. Kuznetsov, M. Kroshitsky.
Exhibitor of art exhibitions since 1960.
Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1961.
In 1999, S.I. Bakaev awarded the title of Honored Artist of Crimea.
The artist's works are in the collections of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Kharkiv Art Museum, Chernigov Historical Museum, Alupka Palace Museum, Simferopol Art Museum, Nikolaev Art Museum, Horlivka Art Gallery, Kamenets-Podolsk Museum of Local Lore, A.P. Chekhov House-Museum in Yalta, in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
Lived and worked in the city of Yalta.
