About the artist: Born on February 7, 1936 in the village of Novoraysk, Kherson region (Ukraine). In 1963-1968 he studied at the Dnepropetrovsk Art College. In 1978 - graduated from the art and graphic department of the Odessa Pedagogical Institute.
For a long time he worked at the Berislavsky Pedagogical School as a teacher of fine art. He became a teacher of the highest category. He lives in Kherson. The artist's works were exhibited in museums in Kiev, Odessa, Kherson, Kakhovka, Berislav.
Solo exhibitions of Bozhenko were held in Kherson and Berislav.
In 1996, Ukrainian television made a film about the life and work of V. Bozhenko, “Thank you to the master.” Vasily Artemyevich - laureate of the I World Festival of Folk Art (Kiev), a regular participant in national and regional exhibitions.
