About the artist: Ivan Filippovich Titov (1902-1983) - Soviet painter, marine painter, graphic artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1955), People's Artist of the RSFSR (1969), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. After graduating from the graphic faculty of Vhutein in 1930, he was appointed director of the Leningrad Polygraphic College.
Since 1936, he headed the publishing house of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (LOSSKh).
Member of the Great Patriotic War. He served on the battleship October Revolution. He was awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad". Since 1942 he worked in the Studio of military artists named after M. B. Grekov.
Since 1958 - chief artist of the Ogonyok magazine.
In 1972 he was awarded the Order of Lenin, in 1973 - the Silver Medal named after M. B. Grekov.
Personal exhibitions of I.F. Titov were held in 1952, 1962, 1972, 1977.
Ivan Titov's works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, as well as in private and state collections in Bulgaria, Vietnam, China, Poland, Ukraine, Japan and other countries.
