About the artist: Born on October 4, 1918 in Yekaterinoslav (now Dnepropetrovsk). He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute (1946). Teachers by specialty - M. Panin, K. Left, F. Krichevsky, S. Gerasimov, O. Shovkunenko. Member of the CPSU. Member of the Great Patriotic War. He worked in the industry of easel painting. Major works: “Unconquered” (1946); "Black Sea" (1947); Silence (1953); “On the high seas” (1955); “After the Storm” (1957); “Rocks in the Sea” (1959); The rout ”(1960); The Brave (1961); “They survived” (1963); In the native land "(1964)"; Patrol ”(1969) and others. He participated in exhibitions of republican and all-union since 1947. Honored Artist of the USSR (1951). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1963). Professor (1957). Laureate of USSR State Prizes (1948, 1950). He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, Glory of the 3rd degree, medals. He died on December 30, 1999.
